A high-risk pregnancy indicates that there is a higher likelihood of a disease or condition that may put you or your baby at risk. This may be because of an existing health condition, a multiple pregnancy or even your age.

Pregnancy-related conditions we support

High-risk pregnancy services we offer

We provide prenatal care for high-risk pregnancies, as well as personalized services for you and your baby, including a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Pregnancy support

In addition to certain medical conditions, several other factors may contribute to your having a high-risk pregnancy. These include:

  • A history of blood clots
  • A short (weak) cervix
  • Anemia (low red blood cell count and poor nutrition status)
  • Exposure to external risk factors, such as high temperatures, radiations, pesticides and high altitudes
  • Given birth more than four times
  • Gotten pregnant while under the age of 18, or older than 35
  • Had a previous birth of a very large or tiny baby
  • Had a previous preterm birth (less than 37 weeks gestation)
  • History with the abuse of drugs, alcohol or cigarettes
  • Lower socioeconomic status
  • Used infertility medications or treatments, which are likely to result in multiple births
  • Weight issues for your height, including being underweight or overweight

Our experienced NICU staff is an interdisciplinary team specializing in advanced neonatal care designed to provide compassionate and thorough care for your baby.
