Regardless of the stage of your cancer, our facility harnesses the leading-edge technology and expertise of our specialists, making your health a priority.

Comprehensive cancer services

Idaho Cancer Center at EIRMC is a standalone cancer center across the street from the main Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) campus. If you or a loved one need support for a cancer diagnosis, our team of compassionate oncologists are here for you.

Our facility, which is the only radiation oncology facility in Idaho with accreditation from American College of Radiology, has been recognized for our adherence to the highest quality and patient safety standards in our cancer services. These services include:

  • Genetic counseling
  • High-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy
  • Infusion services, such as chemotherapy
  • Interventional radiology
  • Medical oncology
  • Nutrition and exercise care
  • Radiation oncology
  • Surgical care

Chemotherapy treatment

Chemotherapy is used to treat cancer, eliminate the spread and relieve its symptoms. Depending on your condition and health history, your doctor may recommend one of the following forms of chemotherapy:

  • Central venous catheters
  • Implanted ports in the chest
  • Intramuscular (muscle) injections
  • Intrathecal (spine) injections
  • Intravenous administration
  • Oral medication

More information about chemotherapy can be found on our infusion services page.

High dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is a localized therapy that uses radioactive ribbons, capsules or seeds to treat your cancer, while eliminating additional radiation exposure. These ribbons are placed in or near the tumor, and act as a quicker, more concentrated form of low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy. We are the only facility in Southeast Idaho, Western Wyoming and Southern Montana to offer HDR brachytherapy.

Minimally invasive radioembolization

This form of therapy, typically used for liver cancer, involves inserting catheters through arteries in the groin. When used to specifically treat liver cancer, the catheter is routed directly into your liver. Once in place, we can release microscopic radioactive beads to destroy the cancer cells.

Radiation therapy

During radiation therapy, beams of energy are used to kill cancer cells. With the use of an advanced image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) system, we can preserve and protect organs and tissues that are healthy, while treating your cancer with quickness and accuracy.

Surgical oncology

Surgery to remove cancer is often the first course of action following a diagnosis. Surgery can often feel daunting, but our specialists will work with you and your family to determine which procedure is right for you, with the least amount of effects on your overall health as possible.
